Regular Eye Exams Safeguard Your Eye Health & Vision

Your eye health and vision depend, in part, on regular eye exams. To help keep your eyes happy and healthy, all services provided by Dr. Finley’s Family Eyecare are vetted and approved by Associates in Eyecare(AIE).

All eye exams performed at our clinic include testing for a variety of vision-threatening diseases and conditions, including cataracts and glaucoma.

Your eyes can tell your optometrist a lot about your overall health. There are a variety of serious conditions that can be detected using an eye exam, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and of course, eye disease. Early detection of eye disease is critical because your eyes may begin to show signs of damage before you start to experience symptoms. When we detect eye disease early, we can get you the treatment you need and safeguard your sight.

When Was Your Last Eye Exam?

The American Optometric Association suggests that adults between the ages of 18 and 64 visit the optometrist for an eye exam at least once every two years. However, most optometrists agree that yearly visits are preferable, particularly for patients with eye health or vision problems.

Our eyes require more care and attention as we age, which is why the American Optometric Association recommends that patients aged 65 and older undergo a comprehensive eye exam annually.

Depending on your unique vision and eye health needs, your optometrist may recommend that you have your eyes examined more frequently.

During Your Exam

During your exam, we will address any questions or concerns you may have, as well as review your medical history.

The purpose of eye exams is to test your vision and assess your overall eye health. Since Dr. Finley’s Family Eyecare is an AIE-approved practice, our team uses a variety of advanced diagnostic techniques (including retinal imaging) to both detect and treat eye diseases in their early stages. This allows us to safeguard your vision and eye health.
